We’ve got big plans to celebrate Mother’s Day during our May 8-9 Urban Artist Market! Our Saturday show starts at 10 a.m. with special interactive workshops sponsored by the Creative Arts Center in the historic Stone Cottage adjacent to the conference center. Activities include creating original cards, gifts and artwork with instruction from some of CAC’s best and brightest art teachers.
Discover the perfect place to bring your spouse and children on Mother’s Day weekend. The Urban Artist Market will be providing an art station for children on Saturday, May 9, throughout the event compliments of the Creative Arts Center and their incredible teachers.
Let your children make a homemade card or art project just for Mom while you shop for the perfect gift. Better yet, bring Mom and let her pick out the perfect gift. The market includes unique, one-of-a-kind artistic creations like jewelry, scarves, clothing, paintings, pottery, ceramics, sculpture photography and much, much more.
Check out the following workshops scheduled in the Stone Cottage adjacent to the Addison Conference Center:
10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Dallas artist and Creative Arts Center teacher Melanie Brannan will be teaching the art of Gelli printing. This form of mono printing transfers paint from the printing plate to paper with a simple, yet impressive technique. Each print is created using stencils, and the results are truly unique and a perfect gift for Mom (or Dad). For more information about Melanie, visit www.melaniebrannan.com
