Fred Tate Designs
Fred Tate began his artist career two years after college graduation in 1973 in Santa Barbara as a wood sculptor. Twelve years later he moved into metal and jewelry design. He accelerated his learning with three summers studying with Harold O’Connor. The next thirty years Fred was mostly self taught, with a few years of community college jewelry design, which created an opportunity to refresh his enthusiasm.
Fred has received many awards from the top art shows across the country. His focus is architectural design using natural found precious objects uniquely connected. Using sterling and gold, his pieces can be worn as tribal deco sculpture.
