Cynthia B. Crier
Cynthia Crier's subjects are drawn from her dual passions: architectural built forms and natural settings. Cynthia wants to shed light on people and things that most pass by or just ignore; whether a single flower, a human interaction or just a moment in time.
Her paintings interpret visual and sensory experiences. Color, texture and mark making are her vocabulary. She searches for the simplest form that can convey meaning and her value showing the creative process in her work.
She paints within the representational tradition. She prioritizes composition, form, color and emotion. Cynthia's paintings reveal the world and its spatial attributes through the expressive use of color.
She typically works in oils and is now exploring a variety of other mediums; watercolor, charcoal and collage, to express these images.
