The Urban Artist Market kicks off with a VIP Reception on Friday night that supports Metrocrest Services.  Stroll the show floor while enjoying live music by Dallas singer and songwriter Robin Hackett, open bar by Roxor Artisan Gin and Bitter Sisters Brewing Company.  Plus enjoy appetizers compliments of Mesero, Prestonwood location. The Urban Artist Market has several live demos planned throughout the reception and entire weekend. Directions: Take Dallas North Tollway and Exit Beltline Road. Go West on Beltline and then North on Addison Road. The Conference Centre is located below the Addison Water Tower and offers plenty of free parking.

Plan to see Robin Hackett Live

Local Dallas-based singer/songwriter Robin Hackett will be performing live at the Urban Artist Market. She is a vocal powerhouse who has the ability to deliver powerful messages with beautiful rhythms that stay with you long after the music ends. Her sound has been compared to Sheryl Crow, Joni Mitchell, Norah Jones and Sarah Vaughn.

With Robin’s ability to expand beyond one genre she has the ability to reach audiences across multiple media platforms. Her song Hard Left appeared on the CBS Hit Comedy How I Met Your Mother. She was a top ten finalist for the Wildflower Festival Singer-Songwriter Competition. Robin was also featured on CNBC Television as well as receiving editorial in Acoustic Guitar Magazine, PC Magazine, and Mac World Magazine. She has appeared on charts as well as receiving a #1 Jazz rank for “Saying Goodbye”, #2 Folk rank for “Jimmy Dean”, and #3 Folk rank for “Come on Love” which features trumpeter Chris Botti.

Robin studied songwriting at the Omega Institute in New York with singer/songwriter Roseanne Cash, She has opened for Woodstock legend Richie Havens, Sara Hickman, Keb’ Mo’, and John Ondrasik/Five for Fighting. Her collection spans 6 CDs of original music . Another CD is in the works.
